In this episode of Didaktik:Dialog, I talk with Lisa-Maria Müller, Associate Director of Research and Policy at the Chartered College of Teaching in the UK, about evidence-based pedagogy, teacher agency, and how teachers can actively contribute to knowledge transfer between research and classroom practice. We discuss why research findings can never simply be adopted wholesale, what role teacher autonomy plays in this process, and how differently education systems shape that autonomy. Lisa also introduces the Journal Club Approach, which the Chartered College has developed as an effective alternative to traditional top-down professional development: low-threshold, flexible, and focused on active engagement rather than passive listening.
